Cheryl Rush's Funeral

Donation protected
On May 24th, 2021 at 9:19pm, the world changed when Cheryl Rush passed and went to Heaven.  We lost a person who brought so much to joy to our lives.  She was ALWAYS there for us when we needed someone to listen, someone to give advice, someone to lift our spirits.   She brought beauty to our world through her kind acts of selflessness.

In September of 2017 Cheryl went to the doctor for what she thought was a gallbladder issue.  Instead, she was told she had stage 4 colon cancer and was told she had only months to live and to get her affairs in order.   As an example of the person she is, that same day, she showed up to a retirement party for my husband without ever once indicating that something was wrong.  That's who Cheryl was.  Never saying "why me" but instead, always living and doing for others.

Cheryl plowed through those two months and went on to live nearly four years after her diagnosis.  She never let her cancer get in the way of living her life.  She truly lived life to the fullest.

Now I ask for your help.  Now it's time for us to help Cheryl.

Funeral expenses so far have amassed well over $20,000 and are likely to reach $30,000.  Services cannot be held until all expenses are paid in-full so time is of the essence.

As many of you know, Cheryl's children are still quite young and caring for their own young children and do not have that kind of money at this point in their lives.

During Cheryl's last days, I witnessed the love and care that her children gave to her.  Watching them navigate through this was both heartbreaking and heartwarming.

I am hoping that through all of us, we can come together and help give Cheryl the send off that she would have bent over backwards to give each and every one of us.  I ask that you donate whatever you can to this very important cause.

Ariane, Cheryl's oldest daughter was designated as the executor of Cheryl's will and will be overseeing all the final expenses.  Araine Cottrell has authorized me, Carrie Wevill (one of Cheryl's many close friends) to withdraw the funds on her and her siblings behalf to deliver the money to them outside of GoFundMe.  Money raised are being used to pay for funeral and burial expenses.

Thank you everyone for your loving acts of kindness.
