Cheryl Ann (Shook) Brooks, 65, of Newton, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on September 12, 2025. She was born on November 21, 1959.

Cheryl grew up in Newton and was a proud graduate of Maiden High School. She went on to build a beautiful life centered around love, family, and faith. For 27 years, she shared a devoted marriage with her husband, Johnny Brooks, who lovingly survives her.

She was a cherished mother to Aaron Shook and his wife Deanna, Deborah Helser and her husband Ronnie, and John Brooks. Cheryl was also blessed with five grandchildren, one on the way and one great granddaughter Nyra. Cheryl had a warm and generous spirit. She was kind, thoughtful, and always put her family first. She loved shopping, had a special fondness for Tinkerbell, and found joy in caring for her dogs. Her greatest happiness came from the time spent with her loved ones, and she will forever be remembered for her gentle heart and unwavering devotion to her family. Cheryl's legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. I am making this GoFundMe page to help pay for the memorial in the cremation.
