Cheryl Adam's home was lost in the devastation of the Caldor Fire that ripped through her mountain town of Grizzly Flats, CA. It was her home of 21 years, she got out with her pets, a truck, a small tow camper, and a few of her musical instruments. The rest is a complete loss. My name is Michael McNevin, from Niles, CA, and hoping my friends, your friends, and friends of Cheryl, can help her during this financial and emotional time. As she pulls things together for herself and her pets, this fundraiser can give her some financial breathing room as she relocates, retools her way of life, runs up against all she needs to start over. Wherever she stays in her camper for now, there is an 2-3 years waiting period for insurance and assessments to kick in to rebuild. Cheryl is a dear friend and musician. Often seen at The Mudpuddle Shop jams and song swaps in Niles, and at songwriter Antsy McCLain’s annual Woodflock Festival. She's part of our musical family, let's give her some hope, love, community, and a leg up. Any donation, no matter how small or large, is welcome. She may not be able to respond to everyone in the coming weeks, that will be difficult for a while. She sends her love to all of you. She's the direct recipient now in the page, and can see what's going on in here too. On behalf of Cheryl, thank you so much for your kindness and help.
UPDATE as of early Sept 2021, Cheryl had a FEMA sum of some amount, to help her with her losses. Without prying too much, I understand through a mutual friend it has helped her, with her emergency of survival and living out of the trailer with her pets. Not sure what happens in the next year or two, so we're keeping this page alive, with a lowered goal amount - from 30k down to 10k. She may need this bumped again as she finds out what is covered and what is not and for all the incidental stuff that comes from a loss like this. She's close to the 4k mark now, thanks to all your help, and please do continue to donate if you're able. We're wait and see how/if her home is rebuilt and/or how she might resettle her life elsewhere. Thank you all for helping out, caring, and giving Cheryl a community lift! Love, Mike.
