Nick O'Neill's Cherry Sprout Fund
Donation protected
I didn’t know 10 years ago, when I started working in a small North Portland produce market, that I would later be making it my career. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to own a business that I am so passionate about and to be blessed with the unyielding support of the current owners and staff.
I have been pursuing the purchase of Cherry Sprout Produce, which originally opened in 1996 as Big City Produce, to provide fresh produce and grocery products to a historically underserviced community in North Portland. Our mission is to provide fresh, healthy, and affordable food to our community with a focus on supporting our local economy and raising awareness of issues surrounding food access and sustainability. Our success is measured by the health and happiness of our community!
Over the past year I have researched and pursued various financing options. Banks are reluctant to extend loans to small business entrepreneurs even for the purchase of an established, successful business. Although I have owner financing for the bulk of the purchase I need a down payment. This has led me to look for alternative ways to raise the necessary funds. I have secured $20,000 but need $7,000 more. If you would consider offering help in any way I would be extremely grateful. Even small donations add up!
If you get the chance, please drop by sometime and check out the store, the odds are very good that I will be there!
Best,
Nick
