10/06/2024 Update:

Cherry's big fight is over. She fought bravely and was the exemplar to us all. Although we are heartbroken and will miss her smile, her laugh, her wit, her wisdom, we know we will see her again in a new, perfect, healthy body. Cherry appreciated every donation, prayer, and other ways you helped with her and her family’s journey.

3/1/2024 Update:

Cherry has finished her chemo! There will be a couple more PET scans over the next few months, but we are so thankful for this milestone! She’s a little bit nauseated, but otherwise doing well.

We achieved our first goal of $6,000, so Aunt Sally kept her promise of shaving her head! (See photos in update below) Now let's aim for the $10,000 goal so Cherry's mother Ellen will have to undergo the same thing!

Cherry is so much more than her smile. But that's the very first thing you can't help but notice about her. It's radiant and warm and full of the kind of peace that sets anyone immediately at ease. Perhaps that's what makes her such a great nurse.

Now, she herself needs medical care. Cherry has been diagnosed with Stage IV Uterine Serous Carcinoma. This is the most brutal of gynecological cancers, and Cherry has a big fight ahead of her.

This mother of three has entertained her extended family since day one. She's brilliant, resilient, resourceful, and exceedingly funny. She can change a timing belt and she can sit beside a dying patient, providing loving comfort and care. She is the most dedicated mother, supporting her three children through all their various activities and interests, including swordfighting, art, and welding.

We, her family, are supporting Cherry with everything we've got: prayers, driving her to medical appointments, sending her little gifts to keep her spirits up, giving her words of encouragement. Will you support her by donating to help cover her extensive medical costs?
