Cherry, Red! - Senior Thesis Short Film

Hopeless romantic Cherry tries a last resort at love and meaningful connection: speed dating.

The story follows Cherry, a twenty-three-year-old woman who has decided to call things off with her boyfriend. She feels a lack of connection in her relationship and has decided, encouraged by her friend, to attend a speed dating event. But when her friend never shows up, Cherry is inundated by increasingly strange men.

Cherry, Red! Is a witty comedy with heart. Each date Cherry suffers through has a strange and vibrant character, while also progressing Cherry’s character arc of feeling unable to find connection. The film has a warm 50’s vibe generated by the location, the dressing of it, the dialogue and the tone.
