Our mom, Cherlynn R. Webb got her "Servant Wings" on August 3rd, 2021. She was our leader, our best friend, our rock. There is a hole in the Webb family that cannot be replaced. For those of you who don't know, in September of 2020, Cherl was diagnosed with Endometrial cancer. The cancer along with therapeutic complications that occurred this summer were too much for her body to bear. She no longer has to struggle and fight the nasty awful disease which Endometrial cancer is.
Endometrial cancer is more common for white women, but Black women are more likely to die from it. In a year, it is estimated that approximately 13,000 women will die from cancers of the uterine body. Knowing these facts, cancer of the uterus is still one of the most underfunded cancers. The research that is required for uterine cancers is behind for funding because other types of cancer are taking precedence.
For these reasons, we want to create a foundation to enshrine mom's legacy, but also help struggling families. Our mother deserves a foundation, a monument, and a building. But we absolutely want to do everything we can to make sure that families that are fighting their way through this disease like we did have more help and knowledge to go off of. There are no definitive answers or strong case studies yet for Endometrial cancer. We need to change this and with your help we can. We are Endometrial Cancer Awareness advocates.
The Cherlynn R. Webb Foundation will be a foundation that serves funding to Endometrial Cancer research solely. The paperwork in order to set up a 501c3 foundation is in the works right now. In the short future, people will be able to donate straight to the foundation by check and companies will be able to match donations. For now, if you are inclined to donate to the Cherlynn R. Webb Foundation, please do so through this GoFundMe. The money that you contribute will only be used to get the foundation off and running. If you have already donated to the Cherlynn R. Webb Foundation, we thank you. Your contribution has been recognized and deposited.
Thank you for all the support that's been shown to our family. We thank God for all of you. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Brenton Webb.
