To My Dearest of Friends,

 

My name is Cheri Glennie and on Sept 20, 2021 my life changed forever. I was hit head on by a young man in a tragic car accident while he was driving distracted. I just returned home after spending 3 long months in the hospital, with more than 3 weeks of that in ICU. Prior to that very sad day, I was very energetic, enjoyed physical fitness and loved to play with my grandchildren all day long when given the chance. My heart was filled with love, joy, and happiness for a bright future. I have always believed in staying positive in life. However, the past 4 months I feel like I fell asleep and woke up in an alternate nightmare reality that has shocked me to my core. In the accident I received multiple compound fractures, over 14 severely broken bones, fractured vertebrae in my back, all the bones in one of my heels were completely shattered and every limb has been affected as well as multiple organs. I’ve had over 16 major surgeries in under 3 months with more to come, and today I am living my life in a wheelchair physically, mentally and financially devastated. As you could imagine, this situation has left me doing something I absolutely hate, which is asking for financial help because the medical bills seem to be endless. Before this, I worked 2 jobs that I loved. The ability to work that second job has now been taken away from me for at least a year. Any help or support would be the blessing of a lifetime.
