Second Chance at Love Humane Society is located in Templeton on the Central Coast of California. This organization holds a special place in JoAnn Crivello‘s heart. During a challenging period in her life, JoAnn spent time with the founder, Cheri Wulff Lucas, and discovered the amazing services this all-volunteer organization offers to the community.

Second Chance at Love Humane Society is a 501 (c)(3) no-kill animal rescue organization founded in 1994 by renowned dog behaviorist Cheri Lucas. Situated on her 20-acre property, Cheri has rescued over 5,000 dogs, many of whom were on euthanasia lists at various high-kill shelters in California. After these dogs are rescued, they are physically and emotionally rehabilitated and placed in loving homes.

California currently has the highest euthanasia rate of any state in the United States. As a result, Second Chance has taken in large numbers of dogs and is significantly above capacity. They urgently need financial support for medical care, food supplies, and shelter repairs.
