Cherie McCormick Memorial Scholarship Fund for Claire & Ethan
Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister co-worker and friend Cherie Kristen McCormick passed away on December 14, 2018 after a courageous 22-month battle with glioblastoma. She will be fondly remembered for her love of life, keen sense of humor and, mostly, for her unwavering commitment to and love for her family. Cherie touched the lives of countless people and she will be deeply missed!
Cherie leaves behind two wonderful children, Claire and Ethan McCormick. During her 22-month battle with cancer, her primary goal and wish was for her family to continue to live life to the fullest and move forward with their plans for the future. In passing, these desires remained the primary focus.
Claire is a freshman at the University of Arkansas where she is working toward a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (B.S.E.) with the ultimate goal of becoming an Occupational Therapist serving children with special needs.
Ethan is a sophomore at Shawnee Mission East High School where he is highly focused on excelling in academics as he recognizes this is the first step toward being accepted into a college with a quality Men’s Soccer Program. He is currently the goalie for Sporting Blue Valley Pre-Academy soccer program.
Help us celebrate and remember Cherie. We can continue to honor Cherie as a great wife, mother, daughter, sister, co-worker and friend. We are establishing this fund as a tribute to Cherie; to ensure her kids continue living happy and healthy lives, which includes keeping their educational futures intact. Please know, any amount you choose to give will greatly help this family and have a significant impact on Darrell (husband, father), Claire and Ethan.
Thank You!
