Hi, my name is Mike Lawhead. I have set up this page to help raise money for my one and only sister Cheri. She is currently receiving treatment for AML. This is an aggressive form of leukemia and she needs a bone marrow/stem cell transplant. The transplant requires additional chemotherapy and radiation prior to the transplant. This will leave her immune system very compromised and she will be required to stay close to Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo New York for 100 days. She has very good health insurance that is covering her medical expenses, but it does not provide any assistance for housing costs. She is currently on a waiting list for Kevin’s Guest House ( Roswell patients and family ) for a cost of $50 per night ( if they have an apartment available ). The other options are nearby hotels at approximately $100 per night. That’s for 100 days ! This is where our wonderful community can help with these extra costs.
