"An uncle's love is like a father's love."

Hello, my name is Pa Hang. I am the niece of Cher Pao Hang. My dad passed away in 2015, and my uncle became a father figure in my life and my siblings. If you knew my uncle, he was the most admirable and sweetest person with a heart of gold. This fundraiser is to help raise money for my uncle's medical and funeral expenses and help my aunty Neng Vang move on in life as she will be the only one left living in their house.

Cher Pao Hang was born on 06/15/1955, to Xai Her Hang and Sheng Yang. In his family, he has four brothers and five sisters. He is the youngest out of the five sons. Four of his sisters passed away in Laos. The only surviving sister lives in Wisconsin. All the older brothers have passed on. Two brothers passed away in Laos and the other two passed here in America. One of them being my dad.

Imagine being born into a big family with lots of siblings, and then one day, all that is left is just you. My uncle was very lonely and depressed. He missed all his siblings every day. Yet he still stepped up and became the father figure in our lives because he knew how much we all miss our dad.

In 2014, Cher Pao Hang was diagnosed with Stage 1 colon cancer. The doctors said that he needed surgery because it was still early. We proceeded with the surgery, and the tumor was removed. However, in October of 2021, he lost his appetite and slowly lost weight. In February of 2022, we found out that he had stage 4 colon cancer when it was already too late.

He knew his days were limited and spent his last days making memories with us before enrolling in hospice. He gave us his blessings and wished us only well in life. He told us that he was happy and for us not to be sad because soon he would be with his brothers again.

At the age of 66, on Thursday 04/21/2022 at 10:45 PM, we watched him take his last breath. He died surrounded by his loved ones. While our heartaches, we know he's in a better place. Anything will help. Thank you so much for reading and donating. The Funeral will be in Missouri sometime in May. The date is to be determined still.
