Welcome to our 6th Annual Fundraiser!
Chepinitas is a learning center in an impoverished neighborhood north of Veracruz Mexico. There are 32 students enrolled in grades K-6 and 7-9 secondary.
Chepinitas exists to provide an opportunity for poor children in the north region of Veracruz -Llave to complete primary and secondary education. These families cannot afford the public school tuition costs and often do not attend school. Illiteracy is rampant in these neighborhoods. Beyond academics, we seek to develop the whole child, offering musical training,cultural enrichment, while emphasizing moral values and aspiring to become noble human beings.
I, Linda, am the founder and sole financial provider for the school. 100% of my income goes to the school for the teachers' salaries, building expenses, school materials, etc.
**COVID UPDATE** During the lock down I lost income from my music business, but continued driving for Lyft. Fortunately, I was able to continue funding the school that way and paying teacher stipends while they sent assignments to the students and kept them engaged. They are now returning to in-person learning with precautions.
