ChemTalk Fundraiser for STEM Education

MATCHING IS IN EFFECT! Starting Jan 13th 2022, all donations will be matched 1 for 1 by one of our donors up to a total of 5K (until we reach $24,300). Details in the updates below.

We are IRS approved - all donations are fully tax deductible! Please watch our 2 minute team video above. Checks and Donor Advised Funds also accepted.

What Problems are we solving?
#1 - 85% of students find chemistry boring, difficult, or worse. Not enough students are choosing to go into a STEM field, and STEM workplace needs are only increasing
#2 - There is low diversity in the STEM field; Underserved and minority populations typically have less educational and laboratory resources and don’t have role models that look like them
#3 - Many people suffer from chemophobia, have a distrust of science, don’t understand how chemistry relates to their life, or think chemistry cannot be done safely

Chemistry needs a catalyst, and that catalyst is ChemTalk!

ChemTalk is a new type of organization - focusing on STEM education, outreach, and research. We are a grass-roots public charity 501 (c)(3) non-profit.

ChemTalk makes chemistry and the life sciences fun and easy to learn. We make it more relatable and improve its perception.

We are also all volunteers. Our intern program makes us unique - over 60 college and high school students have participated in it - learning science communication and life skills. Our board includes some of the top academics in the country, including the world’s foremost expert on the periodic table, Dr. Eric Scerri.

ChemTalk is building the world’s first chemistry super-portal for students and the general public. We combine easy to read chemistry tutorials, with experiments, history articles, element articles, and interviews with living role models. We showcase short and long form video experiments and demonstrations over YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. We also develop science experiments that will excite and inspire people.

Our audience is broad and consists of students of all ages, teachers, science enthusiasts, and the general public. Over 140,000 people now reach our website each month, making us one of the fastest growing education sites of 2021, and in 2021 including social media we’ve already reached well over a million people.

Additional funding for our non-profit will allow us to achieve our vision of having the top chemistry and life science inspiration platform in the world, greatly extending our reach. We will greatly expand our content, organize our resources, and build our volunteer base. We will obtain a new lab space, the ChemTalk LiveLab, where we will live-stream interactive science experiments and demonstrations. We will also continue and enlarge our intern program

With your help, we’ll easily reach over ten million people in 2022.

Please go to our ChemTalk website  and see for yourself the amazing things we've done with very limited resources.  You'll see the passion of our all-volunteer effort thus far.  Reaching our target of $50,000 will allow us to accomplish much more.  Thank you for your support!
