Chemotherapy for Dewey
Donation protected

The good news is that canine lymphoma (especially B cell) is very treatable. The bad news is the treatment is not cheap. There is a range of different treatment options available; Alex has chosen to go with a treatment involving 5 rounds of a single chemotherapy drug over 15 weeks. The median survival time for this treatment is approximately 9-10 months. We hope to use this time to give Dewey the best possible summer with camping, treats and being surrounded by the people he adores.
Additionally Dewey has become Alex's Psychiatric Service Dog (PSD) over the past couple years. In this role Dewey acts as a crucial part of Alex's life and mental health. Keeping Dewey with us for several more months is the best option for Alex's continued health.
Each chemo treatment will cost between $500-$1500 so every bit will help. Alex does not have any insurance for Dewey, so all of this will be paid out of pocket. While we all feel Dewey's continued company is worth this cost, the truth is the bills are going to take a huge toll on Alex's finances as a contract worker with no guaranteed long-term employment.

If you donate I would love to send you a thank you card signed by Mr. Dewey himself. Let Kelsey or Alex or Aidan know your address and we will get it in the mail to you as soon as we can!
