Our, uncle, Larry McNeal was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June this year. Luckily it is treatable but he needs to take chemo and 2 other medicines every month for a year. Unfortunately, the chemo is very expensive and not covered by their insurance. The chemo costs $1750 each month which they can not afford. We started this fundraiser to try and raise enough money for 4 months of chemo. #Chemo4Larry
Larry has worked hard all his life. He retired from Case IH in 2008 after 42 years. Larry went back to work for the next 8 years before finally retiring in 2016 . Larry and Jenny enjoyed working for Child Evangelism Fellowship for 2 of those years. He also worked for 6 years at John Deere. They held hundreds of Good News Clubs for children in the Moline office along with area schools, housing complexes and summer camps. They are members of Wildwood Baptist Church in East Moline. Larry enjoys yard work, riding his bicycle and camping when he is able.
Much of their savings has been depleted over the last year to pay for Jenny's medical bills. Last September, Jenny fractured 4 vertebrae in her back and was unable to lay flat or stand without intense pain for several months. She no longer needs her cane or back brace but is still dealing with a pinched nerve in her neck to going to physical therapy.
Aunt Jenny and Uncle Larry have been married for 53 years. They have already sold their trailer, used their savings and borrowed from their life insurance policies. However, they still do not have enough money for the chemotherapy Larry needs.
September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Please donate to #Chemo4Larry and help us make sure he is able to get the treatment he needs. You can also help by sharing this fundraiser and keeping them both in your prayers. To help get the word out, you can share the link to your Facebook Timeline!
