Chemo to battle Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Donation protected
Hi everyone! My sister was recently diagnosed with a disease called Hodgkin's Lymphoma (HL). According to the Canadian Cancer Society, HL is "a cancer that starts in lymphocytes." Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell that is important in the immune system. As HL progresses and spreads, it will affect the body's ability to fight infection.

My sister was diagnosed with Stage 2 HL with the type being Mixed Cellularity. Fortunately, HL is one of the most treatable forms of cancer with more than 75 percent of people diagnosed cured with the initial treatment.

Depending on different factors, the treatment plan will be different. For my sister, she will be receiving ABVD chemotherapy.

Although it is very treatable, there are many long-term side effects that come with chemotherapy. One side effect is fertility - the ability to have children in the future. Because we don't want to take any risks, my sister will also be looking into preserving her eggs which is a costly procedure.

As of right now, my sister is in Taiwan receiving treatment. We are very blessed to have been able to catch HL earlier on and get a treatment plan ready.

For those who are interested in sending in a donation, here is how your donation will help:
- For the chemotherapy and drugs required
- For the procedure to preserve her eggs
- For staying at the hospital when required

We greatly appreciate any form of help during this time! Please let me know if you have any questions.
