Chemo Journey Begins

Hi my name is Karen, I am fundraising for this amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather of mine Tom. Accepting the news of Adenocarcinoma of the lungs like a trooper, then getting hit with diagnosis of occlusion in his right femoral artery, surgery to fix that, over a month with his wound vac on to heal the site, then starting chemo all within a two month spand. His spirit and outlook has seemed much better than I anticipated and then we start recieving the bills, you know the part that Medicare doesn't cover. Our out of pocket cost for 1 chemo treatment is $1190., and the oncologist stated several treatments will be needed, on top of that he was put on lovonox (bloodthinner) injections, twice a day. That bill is $125/month, along with his other medications (inhalers, blood pressure, etc} and a new pet scan every 8-9 weeks........I am at a loss on how we will pay for these for months to come. And the real kicker is our car that we bought used a few years ago died on the way for an oil change....the transmission is shot and its possible the engine may have bit the dust. With all of this, it as led me to ask for help in a way I never would have dreamed of. The first chemo bill has already arrived and the second chemo treatment was done 2weeks ago, that bill should be arriving real soon.....
