On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, my minivan died while returning from a chemo treatment for my daughter Aviana. Earlier this year in April, Aviana was rushed to the hospital, and eventually diagnosed with Pre B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Two days later, she celebrated her 3rd Birthday in the PICU of Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. Today, Aviana is in remission (with no relapse), and truly a walking miracle. The duration of her treatment is 2 years, which means we will need to make our hour long one way trip quite a few more times. In the meantime our family of four survive off the sole income of my wife, and help from loved ones.
Due to COVID and recovering from a ruptured achillies tendon, I have spent all my savings supporting my family while out of work. I would love to work again, and intend on finding anything that will help pay the bills, but reliable transportation is also a huge part of that.
I am asking for you to help us purchase a reliable used family vehicle so I can continue to take Aviana to her chemotherapy appointments. The repair costs for my 197,000 mile 2005 minivan far exceed its value, and the mechanic said it wasn’t worth fixing. Normally, my wife works in office, and our 1yr old son is cared for in Lakeland, while my daughter and I travel to St. Petersburg, FL. Taking the only remaining car for chemo puts my wife and son in a potentially dangerous situation if an emergency were to occur (an hour away). Frequency of the chemo appointments varies, but for now, we are returning to the hospital every 10 days. We need to purchase a reliable vehicle within the next 3 weeks, and need your help to do it!
If you are unable to donate, please post this to your social media pages and help spread our story. If you would prefer to give directly, you can Zelle donations to magtynes at gmail dot com, or Cash App $TynesFamily. Thank you, and may God bless you for your kind heart!
