Chelsey's Motorcycle Accident Recovery Fund
Donation protected
On Thursday, September 28th, our beloved Chelsey Knyff was in a motorcycle accident versus truck that almost claimed her life. She was transported by helicopter to a Level 1 Trauma Center, where she had emergency surgery and was resuscitated. The accident resulted in the loss of her left arm, multiple brain bleeds, and a few other complications. We are thankful to say that she is now awake and off life support, but still necessitates a high level of care in the ICU. She is a fighter and the strongest person we know, but her road to recovery is going to be long and daunting, both physically and psychologically. She's going to require some revision and reconstruction surgeries, stroke rehabilitation, as well as months of hospitalization and physical therapy.
For those of you who know Chelsey, you know how amazing of a woman she is. For those of you who haven't had the honor of meeting her yet, she's a mother to two wonderful boys, wife, sister, daughter, Master's degree student, teacher/librarian, fire dancer/breather, professional historian (manages a historical education 501c3 nonprofit), extremely talented seamstress, and a very feisty Irish woman (pictures below). I'm her little sister and she has been my role model my entire life and means the absolute world to me.
This GoFundMe campaign aims to alleviate any financial burden during this trying time, such as the costs associated with her medical care, surgeries, physical therapy, rehabilitation, prosthetics, and we are reaching out to you for support. She, as well as her husband, John, and sister, Suze will need to be out of work during certain parts of her recovery in order to provide support. We are so thankful for any contributions and well wishes.
With thanks, John Knyff and Suze Cayer
