My name is Kelsey, and I’m honored to call Chelsey my best friend. We’ve grown up together through every stage of life, and now I have the privilege of standing by her side as she faces her biggest challenge yet.

Earlier this year, Chelsey bravely underwent a double mastectomy after her breast cancer diagnosis. The pathology from her surgery revealed that while the cancer was removed, there is a risk that microscopic cancer cells may have already spread to other parts of her body, which could potentially return as stage four cancer within the next ten years. In November, she will undergo another surgery as part of her ongoing treatment.

Chelsey has made the incredibly difficult decision to forgo chemotherapy recommended by her oncologist and instead pursue naturopathic treatments not covered by healthcare. She hopes to have a family one day, and chemotherapy and hormone therapies would make that nearly impossible, as they can significantly impact fertility. Unfortunately, naturopathic treatments are entirely out of pocket and come with substantial costs, adding to the physical and emotional challenges of her fight against cancer.

Chelsey has always been someone who shows up for the people she loves, now it’s our turn to show up for her.
