Chelsea Swims a 5K for Jen

My Aunt Jen was diagnosed with small cell cervical cancer this year. Small cell cervical cancer is a rare and aggressive form of cancer. My Uncle Chuck, Jen, and my cousin Emma live in Florida, so it would be hard for a lot of their Illinois family members to physically go be there to help them in person with whatever they may need. My uncle’s family has already been through a lot as my 4-year-old cousin Emma had to have some medical procedures earlier this year for her neck. The family deserves lots of love and support!!

I will competing in the Big Shoulders swim in Chicago’s Lake Michigan off of Ohio Street Beach on September 9th. Last year I didn't train enough to do a full 5k and ended up changing to the 2.5k race. Training for this race and swimming in it may be painful and difficult, but it's nothing compared to the pain that those with cancer experience!

I decided that I am going to do the swim for Jen and that I WILL NOT BACK DOWN OUT OF DOING A FULL 5K if I reach AT LEAST HALF of my fundraising goal ($2,500). Proceeds will go toward Jen's treatment expenses. Anything and everything helps! Even if you cannot give financially, please be in prayer for Chuck, Jen, and Emma!
