Hi guys! Bare with me, I’m not the greatest at putting things into words.. So as many of y’all know, it’s been a long few months for me. I got diagnosed with stage 2 ovarian cancer in March 2018 at just the age of 22. Without any experience with this disease and with almost zero medical protection, it’s been the scariest time of my life. On April 11th I had to undergo my first surgery removing my right ovary and Fallopian tube. My left ovary had the cancerous cells as well but I couldn’t let myself have a full hysterectomy at such a young age so without risking my life, I had to choose chemotherapy treatments. First it was aggressive and I had the life drained out of me twice a week but as things are beginning to work and hope is becoming closer, we are doing treatment only once a week. Through this journey I’ve learned so much about patience and prayer and lifestyle and what to really focus on in life. I’ve grown and I’ve learned and even though I get scared every time a minor pain happens, I have to just remember that it’s not going to beat me and that cancer has picked the wrong chick to mess with!!! With that being said, I’ve been silent about my diagnoses for months before I felt comfortable and brave enough to even speak about it to people outside of immediate family much less ask for any help. But with bills piling up, I’m losing my sense of future and reason. I don’t have great insurance because let’s face it, I didn’t see this coming and I don’t come from a strong family household, and honestly I’m drowning even with picking up as much side work as possible, it’s hardly making a dent just with everyday bills. Dont feel obligated, but every penny counts and from the bottom of my heart, you have NO IDEA how big the support has been for me. I also hope and pray this brings awareness to everyone to get routinely checked and to always count your blessings. Thank you ALL. GOD BLESS
