I am fundraising for Chelsea.
At just 27, Chelsea discovered she carried the BRCA1 gene, the same genetic condition her mum and sister share. Like them, she had planned to undergo preventative surgery to reduce her risk of developing breast cancer.
But before she had the chance to take that step, at only 31 years old, Chelsea was diagnosed with breast cancer.
On 22nd September, she bravely underwent a double mastectomy with reconstruction and is currently recovering from major surgery while waiting to begin her chemotherapy treatment.
A devoted teacher, Chelsea has always given her energy, time, and compassion to helping others — but because of her employment situation, she isn’t entitled to any financial support.
One of the hardest parts of this journey for her is the thought of losing her hair during chemotherapy. Sadly, she doesn’t qualify for a free NHS wig, and high-quality wigs that look and feel natural can be very expensive.
We’re raising funds to help Chelsea choose a comfortable, realistic wig that will help her feel as normal and confident as possible — and to support her with travel costs to and from hospital appointments as she focuses on healing and making precious memories with her 3-year-old daughter.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference. Even sharing this page means so much.
Thank you for showing Chelsea love, kindness, and strength as she faces this difficult time.
