On the early morning of September 12th 2025, tragedy struck my sister Chelsea’s life in the most devastating way.

She received the unthinkable call that her home was on fire.

She rushed back, praying she could save her four beloved cats. Through tears, she told firefighters that her animals were still inside.

Chelsea, her partner Martin, and their neighbours could only stand by and watch as their stability, their safety, and their home went up in flames. Twenty-two firefighters battled the blaze, eventually bringing in an excavator to fully extinguish it. In the end, the Fire Rescue Services declared the home a total loss.

In the days that followed, Chelsea searched through the wreckage, clinging to fragile hope that her cats Mingo, Baby Girl, Archer and Saber, had somehow escaped.

Instead, as she sifted through what remained of her life, she found them one by one. None of them survived.

Losing a home is devastating. Losing beloved pets in the same tragedy is a grief few can comprehend.

Now Chelsea faces the reality of starting over with nothing. Without rental insurance or savings, even the most basic necessities, clothing, bedding, food, and housing, must be replaced.

While no amount of money can bring back what she has lost, we can help her take the first steps toward rebuilding.
