Hi my name is Amanda and I am fundraising for Chelsea, a beautiful courageous young girl who is currently battling Severe Aplastic Bone Marrow Failure. Chelsea who is only 17 now was first diagnosed with this terrible disease in May of 2017, since then she has had repeated treatments that have impacted her ability to have a normal life but have also put her family under significant financial stress having to cover huge ongoing medical costs. After being diagnosed, Chelsea first underwent 2 rounds of immunotherapy which unfortunately failed. She then had a bone marrow transplant in August 2019 which resulted in her missing all of her year 6 and part of year 7 schooling. From there Chelsea was placed into PICU in an induced medical coma during November & December of 2019 because of septic shock and aspirations that led to punctured lungs and a catastrophic hemorrhage. in 2020 Chelsea suffered from Bells Palsy in March 2020 and then again in January 2023. She suffered Peripheral Neuropathy in February 2024 with a relapse later that year in August. She had her first round of IVIG therapy in May 2025 and a second round again in July however the treatment failed, at that point her second round of marrow transplant treatment was planned. She was given immunotherapy to help her stay comfortable to get through to the end of the year to graduate high school. 2026 has already been trouble for Chelsea as she has now experienced heart and kidney function issues. Now as she has countless pre-transplant appointments and a central venous line inserted she booked for another bone marrow transplant in February. On top of all this, Chelsea has had numerous blood and platelet transfusions, hundreds of blood tests, two PICC lines and two central lines.
How this young lady has managed to soldier on through all this is a miracle but also a testament to her strong will and tenacity to live but she and her family need help to keep going. Please help me raise enough money to help with medical and living costs to support Chelsea and her family so they can focus on what's important, getting Chelsea healthy. Anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated.
