Dear Family & Friends:
Chelsea Reilly, a 29 year-old fun, friendly and energetic woman from North Attleboro, MA had been living a normal life. She was residing in Charlestown, MA and working diligently as a Group Practice Manager at Massachusetts General Hospital. In early November, Chelsea felt symptoms of a seasonal cold. As these symptoms persisted, she decided to see her doctor, who ordered blood work. Soon after, she received a call from her doctor requesting that she come to the Emergency Room as her blood work was abnormal. What Chelsea didn’t know was that her life was going to dramatically change. She was crushed when the doctor informed her that she has Acute Myleiod Leukemia, which is cancer of the blood.
Although stunned by the news, Chelsea’s doctors have a plan to attack her cancer as aggressively and quickly as possible. On November 16, two days after her diagnosis, Chelsea started chemotherapy to fight this disease. She will remain at Mass General for a minimum of five weeks followed by outpatient treatment.
Our primary goal in all of this is to see Chelsea happy and healthy and to one day be able to say, “I had cancer and beat it!”. To accomplish this, she must focus all of her mental energy and body strength towards getting better. However, this is difficult when the burden of medical expenses is inevitable. With Chelsea out of work and insurance only covering so much, now, more than ever, is the time for all of us who love and care for Chelsea to come together and help. Donating through this page will alleviate some of the financial burden incurred from the hospital stay, chemotherapy treatments, and whatever is to come. Donations of any amount, no matter how big or small, will be truly appreciated and will go directly towards Chelsea’s journey in beating this.
