Facing Surgery, Job Loss, and Rising Costs — I Need Help
I find this entirely humiliating, and I never imagined I’d be in a position to ask for help like this, but right now I truly don’t have another option.
I’m a single parent and I was just told that my employment contract will not be renewed and I'm facing losing my source of income and health insurance. At the same time, I’m facing rotator cuff surgery, planned for March 27th. I’m in constant pain, have very limited use of my arm, and I’m barely sleeping—but now I’m questioning whether I can even afford to have the surgery I need.
I chose a high-deductible insurance plan to keep my regular monthly costs manageable, but that means I’m responsible for $5,382.17 out of pocket. With my income ending, my mortgage increasing due to rising taxes, and having already taken a loan from my retirement just to cover basic expenses, I feel like I’m out of options.
I’m trying to hold everything together and make the best decisions I can, but I can’t do this alone. I’m asking for help to cover the cost of my surgery so I can heal and get back to being able to work and care for my family. Any additional support will go toward basic living expenses while I search for new employment.
If you’re able to contribute or share this, it would mean more to me than I can fully put into words. If you have job leads in the field of Human Resources, please reach out to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give.
Sincerely,
Chelsea
