Help Us Keep Our Home Out of Foreclosure: A Trans & Nonbinary Family in Need
Hi, my name is Chelsea, and my husband Jude and I are reaching out to our community for help during this critical time. We thought we did everything right and wouldn’t end up in this position, but life took unexpected turns and now we’re fighting to keep our home out of foreclosure long enough to sell it.
In 2023, we purchased our house, believing it would be our forever home. But as the political climate shifted, we no longer felt safe staying. As a transgender woman and a nonbinary person, we had to make the difficult decision to rapidly relocate from Oklahoma to a safer part of the country where we hoped to start fresh.
We had a buyer for our house, and we thought we were in the clear. Unfortunately, things fell apart this past month, and now we’re left with a mortgage we cannot afford on top of rent in Washington state. The bank requires about $4,000 for the past couple of months of mortgage payments, and another payment is due July 1. If we don’t act fast, the bank will foreclose on our home, destroying our financial stability.
We’re asking for your support to help us bridge the gap and keep our home out of foreclosure. Every dollar raised will go directly toward mortgage payments, allowing us to sell the house instead of losing it.
