Chelmsford Foodbank

We are student police officers currently doing our training in Essex. As a group we decided to raise money for a charity that would benefit our community that’s why we chose Chelmsford Foodbank. The charity seeks to help those struggling as 1 in 5 in the UK population are below the poverty line. They provide three days’ of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in a crisis. We chose this charity due to the current financial climate, with bills heavily increasing and the winter months coming, we know many people will have to turn to the foodbank in order to get through. The rising cost of living is about to dramatically change during these winter months and so it is an uncertain road for many, especially for those below the poverty line. We as a group felt like this is a charity which is going to be relied on heavily in the coming months.
