Help Us Rebuild Chelmer Blackwater Nature Reserve
On 14th July 2025, a devastating act of vandalism caused a fire that tore through the Chelmer Blackwater Nature Reserve, destroying most of the boardwalks and walkways we’ve worked so hard to install over the past three years.
These structures were built thanks to grants, donations, and the incredible support of our shareholders and the public. To see that effort literally go up in flames is heartbreaking—but we will not be defeated.
Nature Will Heal. With Your Help, So Can We.
The 1.5 hectares of scorched grassland and ancient reedbeds will slowly recover, with nature doing what it does best. But rebuilding the walkways—so the public can once again enjoy safe access to this beautiful reserve—requires human hands and funding.
This is where you come in.
Imagine, if this message reached 1 million people, and each person gave just £1, we’d smash our goal.
£1—what does that buy you these days?
Here, it buys the hope of a peaceful, thriving nature reserve, for you and future generations to enjoy.
Of course, if you can give more, then please do as every penny will go toward rebuilding and preserving this land for decades, even centuries to come.

Look at the photos—we’ve included images of the boardwalks and reserve before and after the fire. This land deserves a second chance, and with your help, it will get one.
Thank you so much for your support.
