Chef Wayne's Road To Recovery

My name is Shevas Wells, daughter of Wayne Wells or Chef Wayne as many know him by. On April 14th, he went into the emergency room not feeling well and hours later was rushed to Grand Rapids. He had torn his Aorta and required emergency open heart surgery that lasted almost 11 hours. He remained heavily sedated for another week due to complications. He is still currently in the ICU battling a number of complications including MRSA in his lungs, breathing support (trach), low white blood count and many others.

His road to recovery is just beginning and will continue to be filled with ups and downs. Michelle Iske and myself have been providing around the clock support traveling to see him as much as possible and provide updates along the way. We are now asking for your support to help Chef Wayne down this recovery road.

Due to the length of his hospitalization, he is not able to bring any income to support his monthly bills. Long and short term disability is NOT an option through his employer. We have looked into several avenues of assistance and he does not qualify.

All donations will go towards his monthly insurance premium so that he does not lose his insurance, monthly car payment to avoid repossession and his medical bills that we are already receiving.

It is unknown how long his stay will be in the hospital, but he will have to be transferred to a long term care facility once he does.

 My dad means the world to me and has not only been a huge influence in my life, but many others as well. I am hoping to take this burden off of him so he can focus on recovery and get back to being the amazing Chef Wayne.
