Hello my name is Karissa Keck and I work at The Big House Cafe. I have been blessed to work and get to know The Brinkin Family for over 10 years. I use the term work loosely because I get the pleasure of working with not only my best friend Emily, who many of you know, but what feels like family everyday. The Brinkin Family started The Big House Cafe & Catering over 15 years ago to share their love for food, family, and faith to the people of Casa Grande. Tragically over the weekend The Brinkin Family experienced an unimaginable loss of the heart and soul of not only the restaurant but of their family. Chef Michael T. Brinkin passed away unexpectedly surrounded by the people he loved the most. He not only leaves behind an amazing business but a huge family who are trying to come to terms with such a giant loss. Chef Michael was a kind, loving, and selfless man, his smile and laugh could brighten any room he was in and he always made you feel like you were family even if you had just met him. He took pride in being able to donate food and his time to many of the churches in town as well as You Matter Ministries for the homeless as often as he could. I am raising funds to help the family with the overwhelming cost of celebrating such a beautiful person who was called home to heaven much sooner than any of us would have liked. I understand that not everyone has the means to donate money, but if you could share this link, or even stop in to the restaurant just to say hi and offer condolences to The Brinkin Family. They would love to share their countless memories of such an amazing person. Their dream and goal is to keep his memory and legacy alive not just through his restaurant but through the people of Casa Grande who he loved and cared for so deeply.
