Our family recently lost one of our treasured members, Mark Wilson... a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. While the loss was felt deeply within the family, it extended out into the community as Mark was also a beloved teacher at Westside Secondary School in Orangeville, and a staunch supporter of the Orangeville Food Bank.
Mark was famous for his irreverent and quick-witted humour. He was always looking for ways to make others laugh and he never took himself too seriously. But one thing he always took very seriously was the success of his students and their future prospects. He inspired generations of students to love food, try new things, and embrace life with curiosity and confidence. His care for his students extended well beyond graduation — he loved hearing from them as they shared their stories and milestones.
It is with this in mind that we would like to build a scholarship fund for students at Westside SS and the Upper Grand District School Board in Mark's memory. We believe that Mark would most want his ongoing legacy at Westside to focus on bolstering his students' bright and promising futures.
In lieu of flowers or other gestures, please consider contributing to this fund in Mark's memory and in support of his students. In the coming weeks and months we will establish more formally the scholarship fund including award criteria and a method to administrate it.
Much love from the Wilson, Taeger, and Ewing Families
