Many of you know Louis Osteen as a renowned chef, and successful restaurateur. Perhaps, he has prepared you the best meal of your life, or maybe you were fortunate enough to have him teach you how to cook.
Regardless of how you know Louis, he is a true southern gentleman whose kindness and compassion along with his culinary genius make him one of the finest people we know.

Tuesday morning, January 5th , Louis was driving to physical therapy when a reckless driver crossed the yellow line, came into his lane and struck his vehicle head on. The horrific accident totalled their one and only car and is the source of serious injuries, pneumonia, heart problems, an extensive stay in the hospital and the need for a stint in a rehab facility.

However, this is not the worst part of the story. As the Dr.'s were checking for internal injuries they discovered a very aggressive liver cancer. The cancer has consumed the entire right side of his liver and there are nodules and spots on the left side as well. In addition, they discovered a spot on his thyroid close to where he had vocal chord cancer. Louis suffered so severely one night that the Doctors asked the family to come as they felt he may not make it through the night.
Fortunately, Louis is a fighter and he proved the Dr.'s wrong and made it through to the next day.

Unfortunately, Louis and his family have a lot to fight;

They are currently battling the insurance company who have denied the Doctor's orders for Louis to move to a rehab facility for 2 weeks.

They are fighting with the insurance company of the reckless driver who caused the accident to assume full responsibility.

They are fighting the system that somehow allowed the vehicle that struck Louis's car to disappear from the towing center before it could be photographed and assesed by the proper authorities
.
They are fighting the mounting medical bills and the knowledge that more lie ahead and all are well beyond their means

They are fighting to ensure that Louis can receive the care and treatment he needs

Louis is fighting his 3rd cancer.

Louis is fighting for his life and more time with family and friends.
