Almost lost the fight............ Happy that I did not!!
So I am at home from probably the very worst thing that has ever happened to me.
It started with what I thought was maybe the fLu.
After the second day, I thought that it could be COVID...
Man was I wrong.
On the third day, my wife insisted that I go to the emergency room and get checked.
She drove me to the free-standing emergency room HCA in Texas City.
I do not remember a whole lot of what happened at first but do remember that they accommodated me ran a COVID test to which I was negative.
I was informed that my heart rate was at 200 and I was hot and confused.
The nursing staff let me know that they were going to admit me to the hospital '
they let me know that I was very lucky that I did come in when I did.
As I lay there scared and unsure of what was going on.
I was sent to the HCA in webster and placed on the fourth floor
ICUM west I believe.
The entire nursing staff and doctors are amazing.
At this point, I was diagnosed and they started to be able to treat me and keep me alive They informed me that
I have a blood infection that they would aggressively treat with IV antibiotics every 4 hours.
After I was allowed to go home I had a med line and my wife had to give me IV medicine every 8 hours.
I have been diagnosed with Atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, and few other things.
They really had their work cut out for them.
I spent 7 days at HCA Heart hospital and I am grateful for everything they did for me.
I also thank all the prayers and comments, calls that everyone sent.
It is amazing how what might seem like a small gesture can really mean to someone that is sick, scared, and in the hospital.
