CHEF IBRAHIM NEEDS OUR SUPPORT!
Donation protected
All his life Ibrahim supported his family here and overseas and everyone around him. I know this from my personal experience. He has been my friend since I came to New York 30 years ago. Now, he needs our support. Since 2019 he has been going through difficult times with his health and finances.
He came to the US 35 years ago from Turkey and worked seven days a week most of the time without losing hope for the American Dream--even in the most challenging times...
Chef Ibrahim is the former owner of Uskudar Turkish Restaurant (on Manhattan’s Upper East Side) and an important member of the Turkish-American Community. After 26 years, he had to close his restaurant due to financial difficulties. Since then he worked as a chef but the pandemic and his health issues intensified his situation.
He has been out of work for the last four months and spent most of his time in and out of hospitals. After numerous and agonizing tests and surgeries, he spent last month in the hospital and was diagnosed with stage five melanoma cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer spread to various parts of his body.
Now, doctors say he has to undergo full body treatment and immunotherapy a long and hard protocol with serious side effects. He doesn’t know when he will be able to return to work. And, the medical and household bills are piling up. Since he has been the sole breadwinner of his family, Ibrahim’s family desperately needs our support.
As an immigrant myself I can only imagine how Ibrahim must feel...
Please help share this message with your friends and donate now to keep Ibrahim’s family afloat during his illness!
