Hi everyone, my name is Hannah, and Im a friend of Eric Rodriguez. I set up this page for Eric who was in an offroad motorcycle accident on June 14th.
A brief summary about Eric: Chef Eric is an excellent hard-working Chef who produces amazing food for his customers. Eric always goes above and beyond to help out his team with a huge smile on his face. Eric is an amazing father to his two boys and dogs. He recently bought a GS1200 and was starting to familiarize himself with offroading. On a ride with some friends, he took a wrong turn and flew off the side of the road, leaving him with serious life threatening injuries.
On June 14th, 2022 Eric was driven to the hospital in an ambulance from Hartsel, CO. A long and bumpy ride, not knowing the seriousness of his injuries. Eric was in the ICU for almost 3 weeks in critical condition. He sustained 10 broken ribs on his left side, a broken clavicle, and fractured his spleen. Yes... fractured his spleen. The incredible Doctors at UC Memorial Health in Colorado Springs were able to get him stable enough for surgery and repair it. Every hour Eric spent in the hospital someone was taking blood, taking stats every 2 hours, and pumping him full of fluids. In the picture below you can see the immense bruising on his entire side. Rotating in bed, breathing, talking, were all an excruitiating task for him. By Day 9 in the hospital, the Doctors decided Eric was stable enough to undergo a second surgery and plate his broken clavicle in hopes it would heal properly. Eric layed with tubes sticking out of his body, constantly draining built-up fluids, hoping he would recover and finally get home to his boys. Chef Eric is a resident of California, so it was extremely tough to be stuck in another state while he was being treated.
On June 29th, Eric was finally released from the hospital care and recovered at his family's house in New Mexico for a short period of time. His Doctor approved Eric to fly home to Castaic, CA July 7th. He is finally home with his family, with a long road of recovery ahead of him. Unfortunately, with broken ribs and a broken clavicle, time is the best healer.
Eric will be unable to get back to work for quite some time, and we thought we would try to make a Go Fund for him. We understand that times are hard but we truly appreciate and are thankful for any donations and/or prayers you can send Eric.
If you can please share this page with others we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you again!
