My father, Phil (Chef C or Mr. C, too many of you), is currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy to fight an aggressive form of Squamous Cell cancer. Dad has always put his family and students' well-being before his own, so he hasn't shared the news of his diagnosis as he quietly fought two types of cancer (Kaposi's Sarcoma is the other) for the past two years.

 

Unfortunately, the Squamous Cell has become even more invasive and spread to his lymph nodes, so this fight is for his life now. Due to the aggressive treatment schedule and effects of the chemo, dad cannot work, and his wife Lori has taken leave for his treatments and recovery, leaving them with little income. The tremendous financial burden and the grueling chemo treatments have put them under considerable stress and strain.

 

We are raising this money to ease that financial burden so their focus can solely be on beating this cancer. I know so many of your lives have been touched by my dad's hilarity and the endless need to bring a smile to those around him; now it's our turn to bring a smile to his.
