I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to share a concerning situation involving our beloved British East African chef, Andrew Bacon, who is an integral part of our community in Puerto Viejo.

Recently, while working from home, Andrew experienced a tragic accident. When the Wi-Fi connection failed, he attempted to access the roof but unfortunately fell, resulting in several crushed vertebrae. After struggling for 30 minutes to regain access to his home, he was urgently transported to the local clinic. While surgery was offered at no cost, the prognosis was grim: they indicated he may never walk again.

Determined not to accept this outcome, Andrew arranged for transport to San Jose, where, after a 16-hour journey, he underwent successful surgery that involved two rods and twenty screws, incurring substantial medical expenses totaling $29,000.
