Andja was diagnosed with malignant melanoma last year.
In February 2020, a couple of days before turning 40 years old, metastases were found on her brain and lungs, altering her life entirely.
Andja went under Gamma knife treatment on the 19th of March and now urgently needs to receive therapy.
She is a yoga instructor, theatrical director, director of documentary films and pedagogue working with young people. She is a warm, open and creative person, full of love for life.
The medical therapy she needs to be treated with exceeds the amount she and her family are able to provide. Wishing to help her, her friends have organized this campaign in order to raise funds for her recovery.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Andja’s therapy costs which includes immunotherapy, metabolic therapy, supplements, examinations and scans amounts to 16.000 EUR for the year of 2020.
Depending on how Anjas body reacts, changes of therapy could occur during the process, in which case updates and medical documentation will be provided.

THE BACK STORY
Dear people, all of you whom I already know and those of you whom I do not yet know,
We are living a strange time ... Most of the planet is in isolation, and yet, I believe that this can bring us closer to each other, and that it has its meaning and possible value.
Parallel to the situation on the global scale, I have experienced a major change on a personal level, in the exact same period, and I am addressing you in this regard.
Excuse me for doing so when each one of you for sure has their own load in this situation, but somehow I believe that things are connected in ways we can neither anticipate nor predict, and that therefore one must listen to one's own feeling and need.
In February of this year I turned 40 years old, while lying at home half-conscious receiving medical treatment and daily infusions. A few days before that, I ended up in Belgrade’s Emergency Center, after having had three seizures (I had never had one before). At that point the doctors performed a head scan where brain metastases were noted. After that, the body scan showed metastases on the lungs as well. It all started a year ago when I was operated from melanoma, I thought after the operation that I had left all of that behind me, but, that turned out not to be the case…
Melanoma is a specific type of cancer, one of the most aggressive and unpredictable ones, for which doctors suggest urgent treatment.
A laser intervention was done on my brain, and I should now receive therapy which should affect my whole body.
My doctors suggest what they call combined immunotherapy, which includes the use of one medication which can be attained in Serbia, and another which has to be purchased abroad.
These medicaments are not cheap, and together with the monthly expenses needed for the rest of my therapy, they exceed the amount I and my family are able to provide.
Thanks to the initiative of my wonderful friends, we have decided to start a fundraise and reach out to people who are able and willing to give their contribution – for life – from sharing a beautiful thought and positive energy, to, who is able, providing material support.
I wish for everything you give to come back to you again and again in all possible aspects, especially those that you consider most necessary for you. For the energy to circulate, renew itself, and never stop.
I never thought that I would be living the situation which I am living in this period of my life. At the beginning it was difficult, but, as the days go by, new sensations are awakening within me: self-awareness, the feeling of connectedness with people, you, love and gratitude for life, and even understanding for why did all of this happen to me. Getting to this point wouldn't have been possible without the support and care provided with such strength, optimism and love by the people around me: my family, friends, my teacher, doctors, relatives, people who have gone through similar experiences…I am learning so much from you, dear people.
I want to live. For us to be together.
And I would love to invite you…Every evening at 21h, whoever, whenever, however long you are able to, and in whichever way is closer to you, to share a moment of meditation-prayer-existence together, in the love, health, peace and joy of us all, and live this marvelous life without boundaries.
