Dear Beloved Friends, Family, and Compassionate Community,
With a heavy heart, I am reaching out to share a critical update on Emerson’s journey. Just before her final radiation session in Shreveport, Emerson was struck by terrifying symptoms—unilateral numbness, debilitating weakness, relentless headaches, and troubling vision changes. They were able to complete the last session but she was then immediately airlifted to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, where an MRI delivered a gut-wrenching blow: her tumor has not only grown but has spread insidiously throughout her brain and down her spine. Her neurosurgeon performed a procedure to place a shunt, easing the pressure in her skull, and prescribed high-dose steroids to combat swelling. These measures have brought some relief, but Emerson’s battle is far from over.
This brave little girl’s unyielding spirit captivates and inspires everyone around her, yet her fight carries an unimaginable toll. Her father, Brent, the family’s sole breadwinner, has set aside his livelihood as well as his self owned construction business for months, standing steadfastly by Emerson’s side through countless hospital stays, grueling treatments, and heart-wrenching appointments. Meanwhile, her mother, Emilee, is on the cusp of giving birth to a baby boy who will bring a flicker of joy amidst overwhelming strain. With four other children to care for, the family faces a storm of emotional and financial hardship. Towering medical bills, the absence of income, and the constant travel across the lake to be with their other children have left them struggling to afford even the basics—mortgage payments, utility bills, and groceries to nourish their growing family.
This is where you, our incredible community, can become their lifeline. I implore you, from the depths of my heart, to rally behind this remarkable family in their darkest hour. Your generous donation—no matter how small—can light the way forward, helping to cover crippling medical costs, keep food on their table, or provide a moment of stability as they pour every ounce of their strength into Emerson’s care and prepare to welcome their newborn son. Every dollar you give is a powerful act of love, a beacon of hope that says, “You are not alone.” Please, if you are able, take a moment to contribute. If financial giving isn’t possible, you can still make an impact by sharing Emerson’s story far and wide, amplifying the call for support to reach every compassionate heart.
Thank you for opening your heart to this urgent plea and for standing with Emerson, Brent, Emilee, and their beautiful family. Together, we can wrap them in a circle of love and support, showing them that a community united can carry them through this unimaginable fight. Let’s be their strength, their hope, their miracle.
With boundless gratitude and unwavering hope,
