Cheer for Lotte: Fund Her Junior Olympics Dream

Friends, family and neighbors-our girl Lotte is at it again this season, continuing to dominate on the track and breaking records all over Northern California!

Lotte is currently seeded 2nd in the 100 hurdles in California female athletes age 13-14 and 58th in the US for the same race and group.

She has had a phenomenal start to the season, setting new meet records in the 70 yard hurdles at the Almond Blossom Invitational, setting a new PAL league record in the 65 meter hurdles, winning MVP of the league for Girls Varsity Track at the championship PAL meet in May, and taking first place at every meet she has entered so far this season. She has taken .5 seconds off her fastest time from last season and is on her way to compete in the AAU Junior Olympics this July in Houston, Tx.

Along with her success in the 100 hurdles, Lotte has also made huge advanced in her 200 hurdle race, taking first and second at each meet she has entered and is on track to again compete in the 200 hurdles at the Junior Olympics.

A newer event for her this year has been the high jump, and in true Lotte form she has dedicated her time an effort to advancing in this event, and is on track to qualify for Junior Olympics in high jump as well.

Lotte runs as an independent-she doesn’t have a team or club to help with fundraising, and her amazing coach Eric Connors volunteers his time because he sees such potential in our girl.

Charlotte's success on the track is due to a balance of her focus and dedication to her sport in combination with the amazing coaching she receives from Eric Connors. Coach Connors is an established hurdles specialist with a long history of taking athletes to the Junior Olympics. He worked with Lotte briefly through her early middle school track season and immediately saw the real potential in both her raw talent as well as her champion spirit. He has since volunteered his time again this last year, 4 practices a week for 2 hours at a time, helping Lotte to perfect her form and become the force that she is on the track.

Junior Olympics this year are in Houston, TX and as Lotte runs as an independent (without a club or team) then all fundraising for her and Coach Connors travel is being done independently as well (and by independently that means me, her mom Jennifer )

Due to the specific location of Junior Olympics this year our total expected cost for travel, board and expenses this season is $6000. This includes flights, hotels, rental car and a small budget for daily expenses.

We are reaching out here to friends, family and neighbors to help balance the cost and make the trip a little easier on our budget. We appreciate any and all help, and even if you can't help us financially please send a message to Lotte and let her know you are cheering for her!
