Cheecha's Emergency Funds

Spende geschützt

Hi everyone,

This is Alex, Kayleigh, and most importantly Cheecha reaching out regarding about our current predicament. For about the past month or so, we have noticed a more labored effort and quick nature of Cheecha's breathing. At first we passed it off as just getting old and not being able to handle San Diego's hot, humid summer. However, the issue just seemed to not go away to the point where even when she was resting she was having difficulty breathing. We finally made the decision to take her to the ER, only to find out that there is the possibility that she may be experiencing terminal congestive heart failure....

While there is a chance that it is not that, this has been devastating news for us, and I'm sure for all of you who have had the pleasure to know and love Cheecha. Luckily last night was the scariest moment of truth, with her having the potential to not make it through the night depending on how she reacted to the prescribed approach, but we received the call in the middle of the night that she was rocking it and would live to fight another day!

But now the long process of fully identifying what she's truly afflicted with and creating a proper treatment plan is ahead of us, and I'm sure anyone who has dealt with the medical system, for both humans and animals, knows how quickly medical bills can rack up. Between being hospitalized overnight, medication, being put in an oxygen tank, and needing to visit a cardiologist, the bills are already beginning to exceed our financial limits with the reality of more to come. Now that we are out of the scariest moment, and even if the diagnosis ends up being terminal CHF, the doctor said expected life expectancy ranges from 6-12 months, and both Kayleigh and I want to provide Cheecha with the most amount of love and decent quality of life we can for our precious angel. There is still a chance that is perhaps may not be terminal, so do not get too saddened by the news, but we want to prepare for the worst, and will need as much help as we can get in ensuring that Cheecha gets the quality of life she deserves.

This is where we need your help. We realize that the goal set for the campaign seems high, but those numbers are already numbers we have paid and plan to pay going forward at the low-end. We have no misunderstandings that this goal seems steep and will be difficult to achieve, but we know we have to try. If you have had the privilege of getting to know Cheecha, you know how gentle and sweet of a soul she is and if you know me, you know how deeply she has helped me become the person that I am today, a blessing that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. The goal is a lot, but even a small contribution can go a long ways. Consider this buying me a future round at a bar or a delicious treat for Cheecha! If you could also share this campaign with your friends and family that would be fantastic. For everyone who donates, I also promise to send a personalized picture of Cheecha so that each of you know how grateful she/we are for your generous donation!

Cheecha has permanently changed mine and Kayleigh's lives, and I'm sure made an impact on yours if you have had the pleasure to meet and be loved by her. Whether this money goes towards giving her the proper medical treatment for the remaining time she has with us, or helps her recover so she can have many more fun and adventure-filled years of life, you will have helped us in a way we will never be able to properly repay you for. We appreciate you taking to time to read this and for pulling for Cheecha!
