Hello, my name is Jade and I am Cheddar's human mum

Cheddar is a 2YO Bloodhound and the love of my life. He comes to work with me as a behaviourist and helps to rehabilitate scared dogs, and he is well known in our village for being a total ray of sunshine!

A few weeks ago everything changed when a low-risk lump removal turned out to be a rare and aggressive type of cancer. The vets were shocked since most cases appear in senior dogs. This sadly is not the first of Cheddar's health problems, and we have had more vet visits in 2 years than some dogs have in their entire life.

Cheddar is currently undergoing chemotherapy which will be covered by insurance. However, he will need ongoing monitoring and treatment which will take us over our limit for the year. We would be so grateful for any contributions to his care, since nobody expects a 2 year old dog to be having life-saving cancer treatment. To be totally transparent, each round of chemotherapy is approx. £700. After that, he will require a CT scan (his second this year) which is likely to be £4,000. Finally, he will need 3-monthly ultrasounds which will be around £350-£500 each time.
