Checkpoint LLC —Where Indie Games Come to Life

Hi, I’m Lance West — a dreamer, a builder, and a lifelong fan of good entertainment.
I’m opening Checkpoint LLC in Richland, Missouri, because I know exactly what it’s like to live in a small town with nowhere to go, nothing to do, and no place to escape the summer heat. I wanted to change that — not just for myself, but for the whole community.
I’m not just a fan of creative work — I make it. I’m a recording artist, graphic designer, concept artist, novelist, and system developer. I know how hard it is to pour your heart into a project, only to watch it go unseen.
That’s why I’m building Checkpoint: a local entertainment café and lounge designed from the ground up as a space for creators, players, dreamers, and anyone who just wants to connect over something fun. Whether you’re here to roll dice, dive into a retro console, or share a tabletop story with friends, Checkpoint is a place to gather and feel something — together.
But let me be real with you — it hasn’t been easy.
I’ve made it this far by selling my pickup truck. It was my main source of transportation, and how I made ends meet when times got tight. Selling it hurt — but it got the lease signed, the business registered, and the vision off the ground.
Now I need your help to take the next step.
I’m raising $2,000 to kick this dream into gear:
$1,000 to get my pickup back. I sold it for $1,250, but the buyer offered to sell it back to me at a discount.
$1,000 to stock the shelves with indie games — your games.
If you’re an indie developer, I’d love to feature your work. You can donate a lounge copy for players to enjoy, or offer your games on consignment. I want Checkpoint to be filled with the kind of entertainment you can’t get at Walmart — strange, beautiful, clever games that deserve to be played and shared.

Even the smallest donation helps move this vision forward — a space for community, creativity, and connection in a town that needs it.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for believing. And thank you for helping me bring something meaningful to life.
—Lance
EDIT:
My truck is no longer an option, so the money will all go towards inventory, display racks, and advertising.
