Greetings Family & Friends!
Che and Amar have the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Brazil in August with their dad, stepmom & stepbrother, and I am graciously reaching out for financial support to make this a reality for them.
Yolanda, their stepmom, is originally from Brazil, and has an amazing and educational trip planned for them: Bahia - the historical & cultural Afrikan stronghold in Brazil; Minas Gervais - Yolanda's home state, and significant in Brazilian independence; great music, like Timbalada & Olodum; visiting an indigenous community protected by Funai, and more.
As I've shared with many already, the boys and I are in the midst of big life transitions around housing, schooling, parenting, career, and decolonizing. While I am excited about these changes (feel free to ask me more!) and truly believe they will ultimately benefit all of us, they do present a short-term challenge, in terms of renewing passports & purchasing the boys' tickets. So I am reaching out to you - our "village" of family & friends - in the hopes that these transitions will not get in the way of this amazing opportunity.
