Help Tim Continue to Fight Cancer!!

My name is Ashley and for any of you who know my dad, Tim, you’ll know a few things: 1. He’s tougher then nails 2. He would do anything to help anyone 3. He’s the last person to ever want to accept help, and is usually the first to give it. But he needs help which is why I’m starting this page for him.
October 15th, 2009 he was diagnosed with colon/rectal cancer. It was my freshman year at college and I will never forget when he called and told me the news. At the time, the Doctor’s said that it could be treated and removed and he would later start both chemotherapy and radiation. Somehow he was able to complete both all while working full time and had little to no side effects. That February he had surgery for an ostomy and remove the tumor. The recovery time was about 6-8 weeks and sometime after that he had surgery again to do the reconnect. It was determined that he was cancer free and just needed to have regular checkups to make sure the cancer had not returned and/or spread.
In April 2013 he had gone for a routine check and the unthinkable happened. His Doctor informed him that the cancer had metastasized to one of his lungs. After some testing and evaluation they determined that it was terminal and gave him 5 years to live. They told him the only thing they could do was chemo every other week for the rest of his life, in hopes that it would not grow or spread elsewhere. Luckily he has been a fighter and since getting that news the cancer has not spread elsewhere, grown, or shrank which is great, but he has had many side effects such as fistula which has caused him countless infections and a few hospitalizations along with it. In the last month and a half alone, he has battled through a bladder infection, E.coli and an abscess on his bladder which caused him to be admitted to St. Francis for a few days. Unfortunately all of these infections caused him to not be able to work much being so sick and that’s tough when you’re a self-employed carpenter and only have your own income to rely on. After being released from the hospital with yet more anti-biotics to add to the list to take he visited with his urologist on how to help prevent more infections. To his dismay, the only option would be a permanent ostomy which would leave him unable to work during recovery. It's very hard for him to accept the fact that he has to have yet another surgery and be stuck with this, but if it will prevent future infections and improve his quality of life as best it can be than this needs to be done. I do not want to have my dad struggle anymore financially or have to worry about paying the bills when it comes time for his surgery in February or March when he will not be able to work for at least 6-8 weeks.
Please help me help my father so we can get through this and hopefully beat that 5 year mark they gave him 2 and a half years ago. Every little bit helps. If you cannot donate I just ask that you share this through your family, friends and social media, I greatly appreciate it!
