Chaz has always been outdoors and a hands-on creator. From the time he was young, school wasn’t where he thrived. He is quiet but fiercely determined and his true learning happened through doing, building, creating and drawing. So during year 10, just two weeks before his 15th birthday, he took the path he knew was right for him. He was given an apprenticeship opportunity with a family oriented, manual machining workshop, started the career he loved and never looked back.
He is a quiet teenager, but his determination is unmistakable. Challenges with reading and writing never slowed him down. What drives him is simple, he wants to make things - with precision, with passion and with pride.
As soon as he started working, his creativity exploded. Hobbies became passions - whip cracking, whip making, drawing and wood burning, timber turning, welding, building furniture, rebuilding his pride and joy first car and creating his very own 7000 litre koi pond. Anyone who know’s Chaz knows that when he wants something, he wants it done yesterday and done properly to an uncompromising standard.
Through work, Chaz excelled. He tackled every challenge in manual machining with skill well beyond his years. TAFE lecturers admired him; work mates respected him. His boss praised his work and told him he not only met expectations but exceeded them. He was on task and finished his apprenticeship in December with sign off early 2026 in sight to achieve his well-earned trade certification just on the horizon.
Tragically, life changed in a single, unimaginable, traumatic moment.
Chaz was involved in a devastating workplace accident on Monday 12th January with a machine he used every day. His dominant right arm was severed above the elbow. His workmates saved his life that day. The team at RPH fought tirelessly to save his arm, but it could not be.
Chaz now faces a life changing journey ahead.
While he will receive some support it will not cover the equipment, he truly needs to regain his independence and return to the hands-on life he loves.
Our goal is to raise funds for a high-quality prosthetic arm. A new arm that will allow Chaz to return to his passions of creating, building, working and reclaiming parts of his life that bring him joy and identity.
Every donation big or small makes a meaningful difference, a chance to rebuild the life he’s worked so hard for. Every contribution goes directly towards Chaz’s prosthetic arm after a life changing event.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, support and compassion. You’re helping Chaz get back to the future he’s worked so hard to build. Every cent is a piece of hope for Chaz.
