Dearest Friends, Neighbours, Community and beyond,

I am setting out to accomplish a dream of mine that I have been chipping away at for a long time. That dream is to see my debut album fully realized!

For those who are not familiar with me, my name is Chaya Harvey. I am a folk singer currently based in Vancouver, and I have been honing my creative voice and vision since my teenage years. Ever inspired by the bygone eras of folk and country music, I try to keep a timeless, sentimental feeling alive and my humanity present in all my music, no matter the tune.

Out of many songs I've written over the years I am set to record 14 tracks in April of 2026, and I will be working with a team of highly skilled and recognized individuals whom I could have only dreamed of working alongside. I have carefully selected each member of the team based on their incredible talent, proficiency and reputation in Canada's Folk landscape.

I have applied for a grant through the Canada Council for the Arts, which I may or may not receive. To get this project off the ground, I humbly turn outward to ask for support in any financial capacity one is willing to lend a dreamer living in trying times for artists of all kinds.

I am so deeply touched by the way my music has been received by my community and beyond over the years. Music has been my north star for as long as I can remember, and pursuing this goal of a full length album means the world to me. All this is to say, what I wish for more than anything is to pour some light back into this weary world in the form of really good tunes that could be enjoyed years to come.

Here is a breakdown of costs for the production of the album:

Musician Fees: $21,735

This includes industry standard union rates for all eight musicians appearing on the album.

Production Fees: $20,280

This includes my incredible co-producer and engineer, as well as fees for mixing and mastering.

Studio Rental: $1250

I have rented a quaint space to create a makeshift studio with help from my engineer.

Personnel Travel: $1200

There is some travel involved with this project, and this is to help offset those costs.

Total: $44,465
